This meeting is an opportunity for us to meet physically with the Caring Council.
Combined with the Caring Council and the Fair Banking Coalition, this meeting serves as an opportunity for us to consolidate our efforts to fight against poverty and injustice.
The Caring Council is focusing in on food stamps. Only 31% of people eligible for food stamps get them in San Diego County because of a system that discourages them from getting them.
People are searched.
County officials make the process very hard with a cumbersome application process.
The home visits are unannounced.
Children are going hungry as a result.
San Diego rates last place in the nation for eligible families getting foodstamps!

We will also have meetings on the 3rd Sunday of each month at Joyce Beers Community Center, 3901 Vermont Ave., San Diego at 6P.M.
