Details

Do you want to be in a group of individuals making this a more peaceful place to live? Nonviolent Peaceforce is doing just that. Our monthly chapter meetings consist of planning for future events, including Nonviolent Conflict Intervention trainings, and particpation in with other peace seeking groups in community events.

We are a local chapter of Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP), an international federation conceived in 1999, composed of 80 non-governmental member organizations. NP uses the methods of Mahatma Gandhi, and works, by invitation, with local and international agencies to restore and maintain peace in areas of crisis around the world.

Nonviolent Peaceforce is a nonpartisan unarmed peacekeeping force composed of trained civilians from around the world. In partnership with local groups, Nonviolent Peaceforce members apply proven nonviolent strategies to protect human rights, deter violence, and help create space for local peacemakers to carry out their work.

A change to practice nonviolence in our own lives and support an alternative to war. The money spent on war could be put to better uses, but first we need to find an alternative to war and get massive support for nonviolence in our lives and the world.

"The business part was about necessary business. The Nonviolent Conflict Intervention (NCI) segment was very useful. Practicing speaking nonviolently and listening to others practice was great!"
